Do I have a chance against the 3000GT?

Its a riced out 97+ 3000GT Twin Turbo

Formula Fiero 3800SC II 3.4 pulley, custom PCM, CAI

Personally I think it would kill me simply because of the all-wheel-drive.

Just curious as to who people would think would win? Dont flame me for this, I dont really know much about the 3000GT or what they are capable of... I looked up some cars on car domain and they seem to run anywhere from 14s to 11s in the 1/4 - depending on how modified.

fiero should hopefully be hitting 12s

It really depends upon how built the 3000 is. If it is only equipped with a cold air intake, free flowing exhaust, and rechipped for higher boost, then your Fiero should spank it. 3000s are about 1000 pounds heavier than Fieros are. The all wheel drive is not much of an advantage against Fieros, as Fieros hook up really well, and also the AWD system eats some horsepower. If your competition has gone for a hardcore engine build pushing 450+ horsepower, you will be learning what DSM tail lights look like (until you go for a sick HP build Twisted Evil ).

I'd say the fiero, if you have no KR at all I would think 12.9 is very possible. I see GP's with 3.4 pulley's and nothing else pulling 13.5's, but they could be freaks too.

I believe these cars are typically good for 0-60 in 5 and high 1/4 mile stock. It'd be like racing a SRT4 I've done that with good results Very Happy a correctly tuned 3800sc in a fiero can be deadly.. I was talking to a guy with one on the phone. 3.25 or a 3.4 pulley, 1.9 rockers or mild cam and 3 inch headers he ate up a supra Razz and the guy in the supra wanted to go from a roll same results. Power to weight ratio rocks Cool

heres what I found from car-stats.com

1997 3000GT VR4
Transmission: Manual
0-60: 4.8
1/4 Mile: 13.6
1/4 Speed: 100

a 3000gt is more of a cousin to DSMs than anything...if he has a different downpipe(no cats) and a boost controller hes in the 12s...gotta love the 6spd...if you wanna beat him go from a roll awd isnt very good on a roll...and if hes got stock turbos they poop out before redline but they are quick hitters

I have a 3000 GT (1992) in my driveway with upgraded turbos and a few other changes. I am also in the process of converting a Mera to a 3800 SC series II beast. IMHO, on top end, you could not keep up with the GT. I also suspect that it might have better quarter mile times than the 3800 SC powered Pontiac. I expect that a lot would depend on the driver, tires, etc.
