I am thinking about swapping my base cavy engine for the L67. I have a 1996 cavy LS and i was wondering first of all how easily of a fit it is gonna be (or if it will fit at all). I also was wondering what tranny i would need and how hard it would be to convert to a manual tranny. Any help would be much appreciated.

Wow! Are you my clone or something. I have the exact same plans for my car. Not to mention that I have a 96 cav LS, but mine is the convertable model. Information I got so far is that it is very possible to put the L67 engine into a cav. As for the tranny you can use an older 282 getrag which is what is in the 2nd gen or a new getrag out of the 2000+ 2200. Converting it to a manual probably will be hard. Don't know for sure. Good luck and tell me how it goes. Chances are that your going to get to do all this fun stuff before I do.
