ok, i have a 99 gtp motor, harness still connected, and the ecm. i plan on putting this motor to a S-10 trans and putting in an rx7, this being said, what are your thoughts on making the motor run. can i tell the computer that it doens't have a trans? will ecm still work? see the auto will not be run by the computer. ok, next, do you think you know the wires needed to make this thing fire and run? if this wiring mess is to technical, then my only hope it to put a grand national harness and ecm on it. but i wanted to try the tech2 stuff. so , your thoughts first. can this be done? can i turn off enough using tech 2? i may go turbo series 2 motor. depends on room and my welding ability.. but the car is prepped, engine is sitting there, trans is built and i already bought a higher stall converter. winter project.

honestly the easiest way is to get a GN motor and use that whole setup. using the series 2 motor will work but it will get very involved because you cant just turn off codes and sensors

not to thread jack but...
@brianteel I shot you an email about a similiar swap but into a Z car & i also have a Grand national.

@GN240Z The lc2 grand nat motor is good but it is also kinda old. You can grab a Series II 4 $200 @ an u pull it. Also google a guy named misred, he sells a complete k-mamber kit to swap the lc2 into the Fc's & FD chassis

I do 3800 Series 2 N/A and SC swaps into Fieros and have done quite a few using manual transmissions. I still used the 3800 Series 2's OBD2 PCM in most of these swaps and I know how to tune it to work without having the electronic auto trans present. It isn't a big deal and it will run just fine without that electronic auto being attached as long as the PCM is reprogrammed correctly. So if you want to use that Series 2 engine in your swap I say go for it.

Is this S10 trans you want to use a 5-speed or 700R4?
